The Last Month...

As you've probably noticed, I haven't added to our blog or looked at other people's blogs for over a month. We've been hermits working in our basement, which I'm now so happy to say is FINISHED!

The whole thing is finished, but the family room is our pride and joy and where most of our blood, sweat, and tears were spent. The picture framing panels were not easy to paint. It took us all of August and the first week of September to fill nail holes, sand, prime, tape and finally paint the whole basement.

Fall is our favorite time of year- the cooler weather, the changing of the leaves, eating soup, Halloween decorating, making plans for the Holidays, and of course, watching the new seasons of all our favorite TV shows! We're especially excited for The Office, Survivor, Sara Conner Chronicles, and  Fringe. Also, I've mentioned many times that we are BYU Football fanatics, and we've had tons of fun going to all the home games. Alaina stays home with one of her grandmas, but we still dress her up for the event.
This was before the first home game. Her Grandma Marsha (my mom) watched her for this game.
Here's a little catch up on what Alaina's up to these days. She's so much fun! She's saying "ma ma" and "da da", babbling tons, and wanting to walk everywhere with our help. An experienced mom told me to beware of the back ache that comes with that. She was right. As far as teeth, none. Crawling? Not yet. Just scoots backwards. She found herself in quite a tight spot the other day.

The other night we set her against the wall because she can stand just fine, but she freaked out and tried to grab the wall as if she was on the ledge of a 70 story building. It was so sad to see her so upset, but just a little funny too. I let her cry long enough to grab the camera and take a picture...then it was dad to the rescue!
The next day she wasn't so scared to try.

Alaina's cousin, Kamryn, came back home after a summer in Chicago and they love to play together...although this picture makes it look like Alaina's a bit skeptical.

The Utah Marathon Relay...
A couple of weeks ago, Jenn, Kyra, Alyson, Holly, and I ran a marathon relay. It's where each person runs 5.2 miles, adding up to a full marathon. (That's the closest I'll ever get to running a marathon!) We had tons of fun hanging out while each of us took our turns running. Hey, we even took first in our division! I don't feel like I can take much credit though, because my knee started killing me after about 2.5 miles and I walked quite a bit. I also got lost at the end and I think I missed like a fourth of a mile. My time was about 5 minutes longer than everyone else's, but if I wouldn't have gotten lost,  I think it would have taken me even longer. Oh well. I had a blast and thanks girls for doing it with me! You're all so awesome!

The rest of these are just some random pictures of Alaina over the past month that I like.

We call these her "guns". They're her favorite bath toy and she grips them so tightly that her knuckles go white. Don't try to take them away, trust me.

And finally, here's our most recent family picture!
Didn't I marry such a handsome man?
