My friend Steph tagged me and this one is about your significant other. I thought it was so appropriate that she tagged me because Saturday, November 8th was our 7th anniversary and of course I want to talk about my Rob! Here are the RULES: link the person that tagged you, mention these rules on your blog, tell 6 quirks of your significant other, and tag 6 fellow bloggers!
Here are 6 things that I love about Rob (they're supposed to be things no one else knows, but that's pretty hard)...
1. Okay, this one might surprise people-he has a huge & very tender heart. A few people who are brave (or rude enough) have asked why Rob and I are married because they perceive him to be abrasive, anti-social, and cocky and me to be outgoing, friendly, and bubbly. Quite the contrary. Once you get to know Rob, you'll find he is the exact opposite of all the things people initially judge him to be. He is so tender with me and Alaina. I couldn't ask for a better husband and father for our children. Maybe he's imtimidating because he's so tall, dark and handsome!
2. He's a handyman at heart-we saved tons of money when we finished our basement because Rob knew how to do a lot of stuff himself. He continues to surprise me at what he knows how to do: heating and duct work, tile laying, electrical work, fixing the old Taurus and that's only the beginning. His most recent project was wiring a light strip above our pantry to illuminate the display I put up there. It looks awesome!
3. He is an avid sports fan and one of our favorite things to do together is to watch Jazz basketball games and BYU football games. When we first got married, I HATED football with a passion. I realized that if I didn't want us to fight every fall for the rest of my life over him spending HOURS watching football games, I would have to learn to like football myself. I imagine that most males would get annoyed very quickly if their significant other asked questions every few seconds during his favorite team's football game. "What does holding mean?" "Why do they kick it off after 3 downs?" "What is a down?" I've come a long way since then in my understanding of football because he was very patient in answering all my questions. It made me happy because he said once, "You're always gonna be the one that I'd have the most fun with at a game." Not his friend, not his brother-in-laws, but me.
4. He LOVES, LOVES, LOVES the holidays. You name it...Thanksgiving and Christmas, Halloween, 4th of July. He gets so into decorating, traditions, and all the festivities. His excitement over Christmas is just like that of a child's and I love his enthusiasm over it all.
5. His middle name is Fred. You know about those talks you have when you're first dating, like, "What's your middle name?" I asked him and he said, "Fred." I started laughing and said, "Yeah right. Really, what is it?" He said, "Really it's Fred. My dad's name is Fred and so it comes from him." I felt dumb, but I'll put it this way: if we ever have a son, his middle name will not be Fred.
6. He can cook better than me. The agreement in our house is that he cooks and I bake. We're having my family over for a Thanksgiving dinner and he said I'm not allowed in the kitchen unless I'm making a pie or something. That's fine with me because it'll taste much better if he does it!
I love Rob so much and am so grateful to be his wife. He told his old girlfriend in high school who later told me (because she turned out to be one of my friends in college before I met Rob), "Rob said that his wife would be the luckiest ever because he was going to treat her like a queen." It's true. I am the luckiest girl in the world because I have him.

Rules: list 6 of your quirkiest quirks...
1. I love to pop my zits and other people's zits. I would much rather see a red scab than a blaring white head! I absolutely love squeezing the ones that hit the mirror when they pop. Hey now, don't get too grossed out because you all know the ones I'm talking about. If you like this kind of thing too, check out www.popthatzit.com. It's grossly awesome!
2. I grab my neck without even knowing it. I grab it again and again until it's all red. Rob slaps my hand sometimes when I'm doing it and that's the only reason I know I've done it. Weird. He says maybe that's why the doctor said I have a goiter.
3. I love to pick the boogers out of Alaina's nose, especially the big, stringy ones.
4. While I'm starting IVs on my patients at work, they commonly ask me if I like poking people, and yes, I do. I don't like inflicting pain, but in some weird way, I get excited over sticking a needle into a nice, big, juicy vein! The veins are bouncy and I love to feel them. I bounce my finger up and down on Rob's large veins when we're sitting next to each other until he makes me stop. It must be a nurse thing.
5. I am a perfectionist. I hate that I am. I've backed off since I've gotten older, but I obsess over organization, cleanliness, and lists. You might not know it after looking at our closet or in some of my cabinets, but after you have a baby, other things take over your time. Having Alaina has taught me to not be so obsessive over cleanliness because my time with her is very precious. When she moves away to college, I won't be thinking about whether my house was dirty or clean when she was a baby. I'll be reminiscing over all the precious moments we spent together as she grew up.
6. I obsess over vacuum lines in the carpet. I love them! It makes a house look so clean and neat. One of my friends growing up had a mom that obsessed over them too, so much that she got toilet paper and blocked off the freshly vacuumed livingroom so we wouldn't walk in there and mess them up. I'm not that bad, but I definitely enjoy sitting on the couch after cleaning the house and admiring all the vacuum lines.
I tag: all the same people I tagged above.

Yea! I'm glad that you did the tag-and I loved the tag about your quirks!!
I think the IV thing is definitely a nurse thing... I am right there with you on that one! How are you doing? How was your anniversary? What did you do? I don't work anymore shifts this week... so when can you do lunch bunch?
I'm so glad you did the Tag! I was really hoping you would, to see if there is actually anything wierd about you! I must say, the fact that you know about a web site called popthatzit (or whatever it was)....okay, thats gross! And its literally making me laugh out loud. I will never dare to enter that site! I loved this post!
So, I totally love picking Banks' nose! I am a neat freak as well, and a list maker. It's funny how when we have kids we change. We have to lighten up on a lot of things or we'll go crazy. Still there is nothing like a perfectly clean house! maybe someday...
