Update

So, Alaina is growing like a weed. She is still like 110% in height and 110% in head circumference. I'm also proud to say she's finally teething. She's getting 5 right now, the two top front teeth and three molars. Fun for her and mom and dad! She talks even more now and recently started saying "mommy." It's her new favorite word, which makes me happy. She first started saying it this weekend on our way out to meet our family at the Sand Dunes, which I will expound upon in a second. For about 5 minutes (I'm not exhaggerating) she said, "mommy" over and over again. I never got sick of it. It was so cute! Until then, both Rob and I were "da da".

Sand Dunes-I actually had this past Friday and Saturday off and our family was going camping (trailering) near the Sand Dunes. They invited us to come up for part of the weekend and I've never been there, so what the heck? Alaina was running a fever (because of her teething, I'm sure) on Friday and it was still a little cold, so we planned on meeting our family out there on Saturday. Well, since I'd never been there, I didn't know how big it was and in addition, we neglected to remember it was Spring Break and that everyone that owns a motorcycle/4-wheeler would be out at the sand dunes. We got there and paid $8 to get in and asked a ranger where all the camp grounds were. He said there were 3 of them. Great...how are we going to find our family?? Question of the day! We had not communicated very well with them and they with us and we had absolutely no idea where they were. So, with screaming tired baby, packed lunches, camping gear and all, we ventured into all the campgrounds and scowered each area for our family. Let me just say I was not impressed at all with the Sand Dunes I hear so much about. I felt like I was in a nightmare I've had where everyone was A Scarie (that's what we call people who might hurt us) and/or are drunk off their behinds, lurking around in their whiskey tango stupor. There were little kids, big kids and adults zooming all around without a thought about anyone else that might a) hit them b) or they might run over. Even Rob said he had a creepy feeling there. THAT made me scared. I didn't imagine that our family would fit in very well there, but we had no idea where else to look.

After two hours of searching each campground over and over again, oh, and we even checked out Sand Mountain, which is like a NASCAR parking lot, we decided to turn around and go home. We didn't even dare get out of our car, for fear that Alaina would get stolen or run over. Needless to say, I don't like the Sand Dunes. And, P.S. They were in a more remote location down a road about a mile or so from where we were. P.S.S. For all those who haven't been there, there is a sign at the entrance to the Sand Dunes Park that says how many days it's been since a serious accident there. It said 4 days. But today the news reported that over the weekend there were dozens of injuries, 4 people were life-flighted from there, and there was one fatal accident. Just where I want to spend my weekend off!!

House update: it's been listed for a month now and we had our first showing on Saturday, during our Sand Dunes adventure. I don't know if anything came of it. Our realtor will call us today after he talks to their realtor. However, my hopes are not that high because how lucky would we be if the first person who looked at our house made an offer? Very.

Hey! Okay, so I can "ditto" your comment about the dunes! Growing up in Delta,we heard about them every spring break/easter weekend. Someone ALWAYS dies at little Sahara over spring break. I can not think of one year that did not happen. It did last weekend when you were there...some politician from Utah died. Francis even saw a kid die one year while he was there. It was horrible! I think it is not as bad when there aren't so many people. I never let Francis go over the busy weekends. Too scary! Alchohal and ATV's do not mix! Which is too bad for the safe people who just want to go have some fun!

Oh my goodness! Crazy to hear about the Sand Dunes. I have always heard about it and wanted to go there, but I think I will take you up on your advice and steer clear of it! I can't believe that Alaina is getting three molars at the same time...I am so sorry! That is hard on you and Rob, for sure!
